Overview: Sama Vritti and The 5 Tibetan Rites

Carpe Sabbati 1 Overview:

Thank you so much for joining me and believing in yourself to take positive steps towards creating a meaningful, purposeful, and successful life! I am so excited to see where your journey takes you, and I am grateful that I get to be a part of it with you.

The first thing I am going to ask you to do is put any fear or doubt that you have aside as you take on this exciting step towards a new beginning. Every morning is a fresh start with new opportunities to step outside of your comfort zone, to go for your goals, and to let the magic of your life unfold. Throughout this course, you will be guided through implementing healthy habits that will help you conquer the day with more energy, clarity, and confidence.

I have chosen to use Carpe Sabbati and Carpe Diem because they mean Seize the week and Seize the Day - Today is the Day - The time is NOW! I want you to hear and see this everyday so that you always remember - that this moment is the ONLY moment that matters and it is always the perfect time to be taking action in the direction of your dreams. Life is fleeting and before we know it, it's over. So let's seize the moment, seize the day, seize the week, the month, the year. You get the point!

In our very first weeks overview we will be reviewing a movement technique that you could potentially incorporate into your routine every day for the rest of your life.

The 5 Tibetan Rites - a 5,000 year old ancient movement ritual.

For the fitness videos in this course, I have teamed up with a fitness guru and master trainer, Mladenko Balorda. He will help explain and demonstrate each exercise for you. Because this course is for all genders - I wanted to show you a man who is a gym buff doing yoga and breathing - so that you can see this is not just for one kind of person. These are amazing practices for EVERYONE. He is also much more qualified than me to teach some of the other things we will be learning in our movement sessions.

You may choose to practice with Mladenko in the video below, or just watch to see what we do and then practice on your own. It's completely up to you.

Your MOVEMENT CHALLENGE this week is to try this ancient movement ritual first thing in the morning each day when you wake up.

For the breathing/meditation sessions this week, you will receive a new video every other day on Days 1, 3, and 5. You will use the previous days video to practice again on Days 2, 4, and 6. Day 7 is optional as this is our rest day.

Please review the Breathing and Meditation tips in the videos below BEFORE beginning Day 1.

Now, Let's talk a little about what it means to be Centered and Grounded.

Getting Grounded and Centered is our theme for Month One because it is the foundation of everything!

Centering usually refers to our mental and physical state of mind. Have you ever felt like you are not yourself? Well, when you get back to feeling like yourself that is "the center". Have you ever felt emotionally unstable? Maybe you have experienced overwhelm of anger, sadness, grief, or some other emotion you couldn't seem to control. Eventually you made it back to yourself, "your center."

It feels good to be centered because this is the state where we are able to be rational, and peaceful despite what chaos may come about in our lives. So, HOW. How are we supposed to do that exactly when the world is in constant chaos?

The way to find peace in the chaos that surrounds us is by slowing down our breathing so that we “feel” more of what’s going on around us. It’s about being “in check” with what’s going on. Being calm and peaceful are characteristics of someone who is centered.

Grounding refers to being content with who we are and is associated with the energy fields that surround us. Becoming grounded is about getting rid of excessive energy in the body, allowing clean energy to come through. When we ground ourselves, we become more in touch with our internal and external worlds. Whenever you feel unbalanced or nervous, this is a great time to ground your energy.

The words centering and grounded are used interchangeably so you might hear a reference to one or the other throughout this course, but this will be our main focus before going deeper because any inner work that we do should always be done from a centered and/or grounded place.

  • Kaizen = continuous growth and improvement = change for the better.
  • Reminder to update your ACCOUNTABILITY app/tracker right after you finish your practices.
  • Make it a routine - do this at the same time (s) everyday and things will begin to fall into place.

Comment below:

  1. Do you feel grounded and centered now?
  2. Are you looking forward to doing The 5 Tibetans?
  3. Will this be your first time doing breathing/meditation? Do you have a special place you will use to do your practice? Show us!
